What is Bank Rate?

Minimum rate at which RBI provides loans to commercial banks. Also called the discount rate.

What is Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR)?

The amount banks have to maintain in the form of cash, gold or approved govt securities.

What is Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR)?

The amount of cash banks have to maintain with RBI in the form of cash deposits. RBI does not pay interest on it…

What is Repo Rate? 

The rate at which RBI lends to banks or banks borrow from RBI

What is Reverse Repo Rate?

Rate at which RBI sucks out money in the short-term

What is IIP Numbers?

IIP is an abstract number, which represents the status of production in the industrial sector for a given period of time as compared to a reference period of time. It is a statistical device, which enables us to arrive at a single representative figure to measure the general level of industrial activity in the economy. However it is a short-term indicator of industrial growth.
